Scones is one of the most favored of current trending foods on earth. It’s appreciated by millions daily. It is simple, it’s quick, it tastes delicious. Scones is something which I have loved my whole life. They are fine and they look fantastic.

To get started with this particular recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can cook scones using 8 ingredients and 8 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Scones:
  1. Make ready 225 g plain flour
  2. Make ready 1 tsp baking soda/ bicarb
  3. Take 25 g sugar
  4. Get 2 pinches salt
  5. Make ready 50 g butter
  6. Take 75 ml plain yogurt
  7. Prepare 75 ml milk
  8. Make ready 50 g sultanas (optional)
Instructions to make Scones:
  1. Weigh out and mix all the dry ingredients. Self raising flour can be used instead of plain flour and baking powder.
  2. Turn on the oven to 220°C
  3. Dice up the butter into 1cm cubes. Add to the dry mix, and use your fingers to squeeze the butter and flour into crumbs. Continue until the mix resembles fine breadcrumbs with no lumps of butter left.
  4. Measure out the milk and yogurt and mix well in a jug
  5. Add the liquid slowly to the dry part and mix. You will not need all the liquid. Continue combining until the whole mixture combines into a ball. It should be a little sticky, but not wet.
  6. Turn out the mixture onto a flour-dusted surface. Shape into a log and divide into 8 equal pieces (or 10 for smaller scones). Shape each one into a squat square, about 1" tall and place on a baking tray.
  7. Use the remaining milk mix and brush it over the tip of the scones for a nice glaze.
  8. Bake at 220°C for 12-15 minutes until brown on top.
